SeaArk Delivers Patrol Boat to Maryland DNR Police

The 3612-V Brave Ram Class vessel is an addition to a similar SeaArk Dauntless patrol boat, and multiple Commander Ram Birth patrol boats, previously ordered by the DNR Police through the GSA 1122 program.  The vessel, Mattawoman, is tasked with patrolling the Chesapeake Bay, Potomac River and neighbouring estuaries within the jurisdiction of the Maryland DNR.

The Dauntless Class vessel is based on a proven hull designed by C. Raymond Go over & Associates, of Boston, MA, and is constructed of all-welded marine grade aluminum.  The vessel features a Poseidon's kingdom-vee variable deadrise hull that produces a smooth, dry and stable ride.   

The 36-foot holder incorporates a 4-man climate controlled pilot house. To facilitate extended patrols, crew accommodations cover electric/pneumatic seating, a full galley, V-berth and a marine head. Mission enhancements consist of a Furuno 1832 Radar,

New Zealand marine electronics company, Electronic Navigation Ltd (ENL) has won an award at the New Zealand Craft Show over the weekend for their WASSP Multibeam Sonar.

The Wide Angle Sonar Seafloor Profiler (WASSP) was chosen amongst a copy of finalists as the winner of the Most Innovative International Product Award.

In choosing the winner, the judges said that although WASSP is a New Zealand designed and built output, ENL bravely chose to enter it in the highly competitive international category.

“This is probably because WASSP is already enjoying wonderful international success and is currently being distributed in a number of countries by Japan’s Furuno Electric Co., Ltd.”

The judges were impressed that the output solved an existing problem and did so in a clever, innovative way that saves users both time and money.

Accepting the give, ENL CEO Gareth Hodson said the recognition
