I purchased this gps as a dole for my boyfriend. Other than what comes in the box with the gps, do I need to purchase anything else? I want him to open the box and be able to use it immediately. I am not necessarily looking to grip addition items for luxury or fun... I want to be sure a that a useful add-on or electronic type component won't be missing.

you might be deficient in to check the box and make sure it comes with a cord to connect to your computer for updates--most units do come with the cable- some don't. you will thirst for to update your maps, points of interest etc and you'll need that cable to do it....
